Chrystalyn M. Reid, native of Nashville, Tennessee was given a vision in January 2001 on a little blue piece of paper to start a program for young ladies. In August of 2014 Queen Esther Ministry (QEM) became officially recognized as a 501 (c ) 3 organization.

Ms. Reid is a graduate from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Social Work and a minor in Theatre. She also obtained her masters in Business Administration from University of Phoenix and a masters in Social Work from Tennessee State University. Although she has a passion to learn and grow academically, she is a proud mother of two children and she believes that being a mother is one of her greatest accomplishments. Ms. Reid has also been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc since 1997.

Shortly after completing undergraduate school she knew what she wanted to do long term, but life’s unpredictable journey and several failures lead to temporary road blocks. Those roadblocks she faced would one day propel her full force into her destiny. Ms. Reid received her training and built her skill sets working with youth while working in the non-profit sector and for the Department of Children’s Services in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the Assistant Director in the Youth Development Center at the Martha O’Bryan Center for approximately five years. She worked for Residential Services, Inc., a non-profit organization that provided case management services for children/youth in foster care. Later she was a residential case manager for New Visions Youth Development Center for females in Nashville, Tennessee. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to Program Coordinator in the Independent Living Unit for the Department of Children’s Services working with youth who age out of the foster care system. She has over 25 years of experience working with at risk youth and young adults.

Ms. Reid wholeheartedly believes that God has a plan and purpose for your life no matter your past or your circumstances. She shares with others that God has the power to deliver and restore those who seek restoration in their lives. She is a dynamic motivator and mentor in the lives of young women that she touches. She believes like Queen Esther from the bible, that she was called for such a time as this to minister, empower, encourage, and inspire young ladies by example through Godly principles.
